Watkins Family Reunion

Dear Family,

I hope this message finds you all happy and well. It has been far too long since we’ve all been together in one place; I think it’s time we started planning a Watkins Family Reunion! Let’s reconnect, reminisce, and make some new memories. 

The location for the reunion will be in Detroit Lake, Minnesota, the Summer of 2027. The plan is for a Thursday – Sunday at a resort on the lake, where we have the use of their amenities. As we begin planning our reunion, we want to make sure we choose a date that works for as many people as possible and aligns with the resort’s availability. We will not schedule it for the first two weeks in July, due to Independence Day celebrations. If a date does not work for you at all, please add that to your response back.

With that being said, the first thing we need is a head count. Please respond to this email by Friday August 1st letting us know how many in your family will be attending, as well as what your lodging needs will be. We will work with the resort to get the best prices for rooms. If we find a site that offers cabins, we will get pricing for those as well.

My son Derek and I are working on a website and Domain, we will share the information as soon as we have it up and running. This site is where we can blog ideas, see activities, and provide information and updates.

Looking forward to hearing from everyone and getting the whole crew back together. If anyone is interested in helping with the planning, Julie and I would greatly appreciate the help and ideas. We will be working on details of lodging, activities, and planning at least one family dinner. So please respond as soon as possible so we can get the dates and lodging time squared away.
