Sugar Lake Lodge on Siseebakwet Lake

June 27 - July 1, 2027

It has been far too long since we’ve all been together in one place; Don’t you think it’s time we started planning a Watkins Family Reunion?!

Let’s reconnect, reminisce, and make some new memories!

The Watkins Story

Our Watkins family began in 1903 in Glasgow, Iowa, when Willis (Dad/Grandpa) was born. His family moved to Drayton, North Dakota when he was 12 years old. Marion (Mom/Grandma) lived a few miles down the road from where Grandpa and his brother Floyd farmed.

Grandpa and Grandma were married on October 24, 1934, in Grafton, North Dakota. They were the heart of the family; Grandpa was known for his quiet wisdom, his dedication to family, and his love for farming. Grandma had a love for gardening, amazing cooking and baking, and unconditional love. Many of us remember her famous chocolate chip cookies; found in a tin coffee can in the freezer!

They raised 7 children, who grew up on the farm, each got married and each had 3 children. Giving Grandpa and Grandma 21 Grandchildren. Many of the grandchildren had children; currently there are 33 Great Grandchildren, 6 Great-Great Grandchildren, with 2 on the way. No matter how far we were scattered, we always came back to them. When they could, they would travel to see family too.

One thing for sure, their lives live on through us all. We continue to carry the values they taught us, hard work, faith, compassion, and resilience. Family is the thread that weaves our hearts together across generations. As we look around at those we hold dear, we also take time to remember those who are no longer with us in body but remain deeply present in our hearts.

As our family continues to grow, change, and thrive; we never forget those who came before us. We carry them with us – always.
